What should I expect while getting intramuscular injections?

The procedure itself is very quick. Dr. Su selects a muscle for your injections, which may be in your arm or leg. She carefully inserts the needle of the syringe into your muscle without going deep enough to reach large blood vessels or nerves. 

Dr. Su may monitor you for a brief time before you leave the office after your injection. This is to ensure that you don’t experience any unusual reaction from your injections so you can leave the office with confidence. You’ll notice the effects of your injection very shortly after the injection takes place.
