Am I a Candidate for a PDO Thread Lift?

Our faces naturally wrinkle, sag, and crease as we get older, but that doesn’t mean we have to go under the knife. Thread lifts provide an effective, minimally invasive option. The PDO thread lift process is simple and relies on many of your body’s natural functions. This encourages seamless results that don’t look tight or artificial.

Dr. Tiffany Su and her team at Skin Shop medSpa provide therapies and aesthetic treatments to anyone looking to improve their health and self-esteem, including PDO thread lifts. If creams, serums, and other treatments aren’t giving you the results you want, you don’t have to jump to surgical options.

PDO thread lift basics

Polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifts work using invisible sutures, which are injected into various points on your face. This creates a tighter, smoother appearance. However, the improvements don’t stop there. Once injected, the threads slowly dissolve, which stimulates your body’s natural healing response.

Your skin loses volume as you age due to the loss of collagen. When your skin is damaged in any way, your body creates collagen to repair the area. This aesthetic treatment triggers collagen production in each spot where a thread is inserted, which leads to healthier, younger-looking skin.

Candidates for a PDO thread lift

Almost anyone can get a PDO thread lift, and the treatment works on many different types of wrinkles. Threads can be injected nearly anywhere on your face, which allows you to target issues like:

PDO threads can also be used on other parts of the body, from your breasts to your buttocks. If you have an issue with wrinkles somewhere on your body, a round of polydioxanone thread injections might improve the appearance of your skin and slow down the effects of aging.

The ideal candidate for a thread lift is under age 55 who has trouble with wrinkles. A PDO thread lift cannot deliver precisely the same results as a facelift, but it can come close enough that many people prefer it.

Unlike surgical facelifts, thread lifts are minimally invasive and require little downtime. Some side effects are normal, but you don’t have to take time off work to recover. For those with busy lives and hesitations about surgery, a thread lift is a faster, cheaper, and more convenient alternative.
